The Lambertville Historical Society is located at 60 Bridge Street, Lambertville, NJ USA. Our mailing address is: President's LetterOn Sunday, October 19, 2008, the Lambertville Historical Society will sponsor the 26th Annual Lambertville Historic House Tour. Homes and historic sites are open from 11 am to 5 pm and provide unique insights into the town’s history, preservation and contemporary use. We have included homes that span the wide range of architectural styles.
- 1868 Italian Revival home with an elegant library with 10½ foot ceiling and many of the original pocket doors and trim throughout. An amazing kitchen has been created on the ground floor that reflects the grace and history of the home. - Federal-style home built circa 1873 with period trim and pumpkin pine floors, lovingly restored and adapted to feature views of the Delaware and Raritan Canal. - 1877 Second Empire home with Eastlake detail with an impressive parlor with bay window and original peapod and vine moldings. - Italianate Victorian home from circa 1883 with tin ceilings, architectural molding and pine flooring. - The former Lambertville 1st Ward School of 1878 that is now an elegant private home featuring adapted grand classrooms and a custom kitchen from the famous Buck’s County furniture designer Paul Evans. - Victorian home from circa 1880 with gabled roof and original moldings, featuring original artwork and meticulous restoration. - 1885 working Victorian Fire House of the Hibernia Fire Company with meeting and recreation spaces that reflect the history of this amazing organization. - 1873 Restaurant and 2nd floor dining spaces reflecting original artwork of regional artists and masterful collecting of the owner. - The impressive First Presbyterian Church of 1855/1868/1884 in Greek Revival style that features period stained glass windows, oak pews and a paneled ceiling. - The Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead, a museum preserving Hunterdon County’s rural heritage with extensive exhibits and local history. Open from 1 PM to 4 PM for the tour. - Finally, the 1816 James Wilson Marshall House will be open with period displays and a current exhibition on the history of Lambertville. This Federal style home is maintained by the Lambertville Historical Society, your host for this annual 2008 House Tour. Tickets for the event are $15 in advance and may be purchased at participating local merchants. Tickets are also available from the Marshall House Museum, 60 Bridge Street, from 1 to 4 pm on weekends. Ticket may be ordered by mail before October 10.
Tickets will be $20 on the day of the tour and be available from our Tour sales points: Free parking is available at the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead and a free shuttle bus will run each half hour between the City Hall and the Farmstead Parking.
